Coastal Track

                          


Track Description
Start this track at Fraser Street car park, Pātītī Point car park or the cemetery. This wide, well made track has been formed on the edge of a shingle beach. It follows the coast line north towards Timaru harbour. There is a bike repair station and drinking fountain at Fraser Street car park (1).
This track is good for cycling. The sea on one side with the occasional, seal, penguin or surfer providing visual interest.
Heading North the track ends at the break water. If you wish to continue keep following the track on Stuart Street, Hayes Street and Port Loop Road to Caroline Bay. From Pātītī Point car park (2) or the cemetery (3) head south to Otipua Wetlands and Tuhawaiki (Jack’s) Point tracks.
